HC Sochi secured a 2-1 shootout win against Spartak Moscow. After a scoreless first period, Kirill Rasskazov put Sochi ahead in the second period, capitalizing on a turnover. Spartak dominated the third period, and Ivan Morozov tied the game with just 24 seconds left. Despite numerous chances in overtime, the game remained tied, leading to a shootout. Alexei Vasilkov scored the decisive goal for Sochi, earning them the victory in their season opener. Spartak's strong offensive push wasn't enough, as Sochi goaltender Sergey Ivanov stood firm throughout the game.
