SKA secured a 3-1 victory over Lada at Lada Arena. Both teams entered the game looking to bounce back from season-opening losses, but it was SKA that emerged triumphant, led by a strong team effort.
The game opened with SKA capitalizing early on a "four-on-four" situation, as Mikhail Vorobyov scored the first goal at 6:20 in the first period. Lada couldn't break through SKA's defense, extending their scoreless streak to four periods.
In the second period, Lada showed some offensive control but failed to find the back of the net. SKA, however, doubled their lead at 28:21 when Arseniy Gritsyuk pounced on a rebound after a strong play by Zakhar Bardakov. Lada struggled to capitalize on their power play, and SKA entered the final period with a 2-0 lead.
Lada came out firing in the third, outshooting SKA 13-2 and dominating in the offensive zone. Their persistence finally paid off at 58:47 when Anthony Greco scored on a power play, reducing the deficit to 2-1. However, SKA quickly responded when Marat Khairullin sealed the game with an empty-net goal at 59:16, securing the 3-1 win for the visitors.
