Game recap

In a dominant display, Avtomobilist secured a 4-0 victory over Sibir Novosibirsk at the Uralets Arena in Yekaterinburg. The match saw Avtomobilist capitalize on their chances early on, while Sibir struggled to break through Avtomobilist's defense, despite outshooting them.

Avtomobilist started with a bang, scoring just 43 seconds into the game when Anatoly Golyshev found the back of the net after his initial shot rebounded off the goalie Anton Krasotkin. Golyshev was assisted by Nikita Tryamkin and Nick Ebert.

At 5:53, Alexey Byvaltsev doubled Avtomobilist's lead with a powerful shot after a setup from Nick Merkley and Sergei Zborovsky. Sibir had difficulty finding their rhythm, struggling to enter Avtomobilist's zone.

In the second period, Avtomobilist continued their offensive dominance. At 26:17, Nick Ebert scored to make it 3-0, assisted by Brendan Leipsic and Maxim Osipov. Despite Sibir's attempts to recover, they were repeatedly thwarted by Avtomobilist's solid defensive play and strong goaltending from Vladimir Galkin.

Just before the second period ended, Avtomobilist added another goal. Stepan Khripunov, assisted by Brooks Macek, scored with only 8 seconds remaining, giving Avtomobilist a commanding 4-0 lead heading into the final period.

The final period saw no changes in the scoreline, despite Sibir's efforts to get on the board. Sibir applied significant pressure, outshooting Avtomobilist 10-7 in the third period, but Galkin remained impenetrable. Even with an extra attacker after pulling their goaltender, Sibir failed to convert their chances.
