Avangard secured their second consecutive win of the season, defeating Neftekhimik 4-2 at home. The game started with Neftekhimik's Roman Abrosimov scoring short-handed just 1:03 into the first period. Avangard responded in the second period with goals from Mikhail Gulyayev and Linden Vey to take a 2-1 lead.
In the third period, Alexey Solovyov extended Avangard's lead to 3-1, but Neftekhimik's Bulat Shafigullin narrowed the gap to 3-2 with five minutes remaining. With Neftekhimik pulling their goalie in the final minute, Stanislav Galiev sealed the win for Avangard by scoring into the empty net.
Avangard dominated in shots (32-15) and time on attack, holding off a late push from Neftekhimik to secure a solid victory.
