In a surprising result at VTB Arena, Kunlun Red Star defeated Dynamo Moscow 3-1, despite being outshot and outplayed for much of the game. Dynamo took an early lead but could not maintain their advantage as Kunlun capitalized on their chances and held firm defensively.
Dynamo started strong, with Nikita Gusev scoring the opening goal at 19:48, assisted by Kirill Gotovets and Brennan Menell. Despite their dominance in shots and possession, they only managed a 1-0 lead by the end of the period.
Kunlun responded with two quick goals, first from Colin Campbell at 33:36 while shorthanded, followed by Nail Yakupov's equalizer at 39:23. Dynamo continued to control the game, but Kunlun's defensive efforts, including several blocked shots, kept them ahead.
In the final period, Kunlun sealed their victory with an empty-net goal by Parker Foo at 58:42. Dynamo pushed hard to tie the game, pulling their goalie for an extra attacker, but Kunlun's defense and goaltending held strong.
