Joey Martin shot high from the top of the circle to convert at 11:53 on a powerplay, with Justin Crandall tipping a Cody Donaghey shot at 13:01 to make it 3-0.

Dundee's fightback started when Anthony Rinaldi was left unmarked in front of Ben Bowns at 19:40, and then 10 seconds into period two James Phelan got a tip on a Chris McKay shot to make it a one-goal game.

Another quick spurt from the home side tipped the game back in their favour, however. Ben Davies fed Tyler Busch across the crease for the 4-2 goal ay 31:41, followed 71 seconds later by James Arniel scoring the Devils' fifth. Carter Johnson pulled another back for the Stars 14 seconds later.
