Goals and assists
Guildford Flames handed a short-benched fife Flyers team their third
straight loss with a shutout win at the Spectrum on Sunday night.
Flames
captain Brett Ferguson had both of the home side's goals - opening the
scoring at 13:06 with the final touch on a Peter Crinella pass, and then
firing home a Matt Alvaro feed at the back post with 24 seconds left in
period two. Both were powerplay goals.
Fife should have levelled
the game at 1-1 but missed a series of good chances on Eamon McAdam's
net - Teemu Pulkkinen missing an empty net, and Lucas Chiodo also having
two good attempts to tie things up.
The Flyers left empty-handed
as Guildford took the points, but the teams will meet again on Wednesday
night in the first leg of their Challenge Cup Quarter-Final.
