Game recap

Fife Flyers earned their third consecutive win over Nottingham Panthers this season, and left Corey Neilson still looking for his first win back as Panthers Head Coach, with a 6-1 rout at the Motorpoint arena on Friday night.

It took just 45 seconds for Dillon Lawrence, playing his first game since 20 November, to open the scoring for the Flyers, and just over eight minutes later he set up Janne Laakkonen on the rush to beat Alex Dubeau and make it 2-0 at 9:05.

Kelly Summers kept the puck alive for the Panthers in the offensive zone and then was on hand to poke the puck past Shane Owen 84 seconds into period two, but Laakkonen hit straight back 30 seconds later to put the Flyers back two ahead.

Brayden Sherbinin made it 4-1 with 3:24 left in period two, while a cannon of a one-timer from Reece Cochrane extended the lead to 5-1 at 37:14. Sherbinin's second of the game extended the visitors' lead to 6-1 44 seconds into period three, while Shane Owen saved 50 of 51 shots faced - including an excellent diving glove stop off Mike Hammond in the closing stages - to take man of the match for Fife.
