A three-goal third period saw Glasgow Clan fight back against fife Flyers and secure sixth place in the final league stands for this season.
Clan, who needed to win to secure the best playoff place possible, took the lead at 7:47 with a Rodney Southam shot that slipped through Shane Owen's glove and into the net. The Flyers were level 90 seconds later on James Anderson's close finish while most of the players were looking to the corner where Craig Peacock was after a call.
Matt Carter neatly beat Shane Starrett in close, including with some nice footwork, to give the Flyers the lead at 15:06.
The hosts led the game until early in the third period when two quick Clan goals turned things around. Tim Shoup's shot from the point deflected off James Isaacs and past Owen to tie things up at 41:56, while only 58 seconds later Nolan LaPorte was left all alone in the slot to wrist past Owen and put Clan ahead.
Dyson Stevenson made it 4-2 at 44:10 to give the Clan some breathing space, and that proved vital when Carter beat Starrett short side with just over six minutes to go to make it a one-goal game again. The Flyers had a late powerplay chance to try and equalise, and also pulled Owen for the extra skater in the dying stages, but Glasgow held on for the important road win.
