Game recap

Glasgow Clan took maximum points on their first trip of the season to face the Fife Flyers, but it was a dramatic ending as the Flyers tied the game late before the visitors won it it overtime.

Mitch Jones gave clan a lead inside nine minutes with the only goal of the first period at the fife Ice Arena. Things were tied 85 seconds into period two when Kristian Blumenschein got round a defenseman and beat Shane Starrett short side. Clan were back ahead 22 seconds later, however, with Guillaume Gauthier finishing on a rebound from Mathieu Roy's shot after a bad turnover from the Flyers. Jonas made it 3-1 at 30:53 joining the rush and coming in at the back post to convert a Roy pass.

3:50 into period three, Michael McNicholas got the Flyers back to within a goal, but they were back two behind just over six minutes later as Clan notched their fourth through Braylon Shmyr. With 3:39 to go, McNicholas pounded on a rebound to bring the Flyers back to within one again after Clan killed off two penalties, and then with only 59 seconds left on the clock Blumenschein fired home from the point to tie the game while skating 6-on-5.

Clan had the better of the chances in overtime and got the extra point thanks to Brock Beukeboom 1:59 into the bonus period.
