Game recap

Nottingham Panthers made a winning start to their Continental Cup campaign with a win over French Cup champions Amiens.

The Panthers, who won this competition last time they took part in it, had a great start and were ahead through Jake Hansen in a little over four minutes. The hosts however responded only 30 seconds later through Florian Sabatier as the game ended level after 20 minutes.

Hansen struck again when he was given too much room on the powerplay at 28:33, and just under four minutes later William Quist capitalised on a turnover to make it 3-1. A wonderful Samm Herr tip on a Jake Hansen pass put the Panthers 4-1 up 3:21 into the final period, although a tap in for Tommy Giroux with 7:15 left to play gave Amiens some late life
