Game recap

A week after losing to the Storm in Manchester, Cardiff came out of the Storm Shelter with a 2-1 win seven days later.

Stephen Dixon's goal from the back post just as the Storm killed off a penalty opened the scoring at 7:57, and the game would have to wait until the final period to see any more goals.

Excellent work from Dallas Ehrhardt eventually set up Tyson Fawcett to fire home the equaliser at 44:26, but the Devils were back ahead through Dixon under three minutes later when he tipped a Joey Haddad wrist shot in front of Matt Ginn.

Manchester couldn't find another way past Ben Bowns although they did manage to bundle the puck over the line which the referees deemed after the buzzer. The goal was not able to be reviewed by the on-ice officials as the Video Review system in Manchester is not connected to the game clock, and therefore the on-ice decision stood.
