Game recap

Manchester Storm climbed into the playoff places thanks to an excellent home win over title-chasing Cardiff.

The loan goal of the first period was fired in by Matt Pope on the powerplay for the Devils at 18:36, but the scores were level 3L19 into period two with Cam Critchlow putting home a rebound after Mario Puskarich had hit the ironwork.

Two goals in four minutes turned the game well and truly in the home side's favour in the final period - Kyle Hope beat Ben Bowns short side to give the Storm the lead at 50:49, before Scott Simmonds finished nicely as the Storm broke 3-on-1 in transition to take the lead exactly four minutes later.

Tyson Fawcett finished the game off with an empty net goal with 1:45 to round off an important for the Storm in their race to make the playoffs.
