Game recap

A six-goal home Challenge Cup win was good enough to put Sheffield Steelers into the Quarter-Finals as they blew away Manchester Storm at the FlyDSA Arena.

What was a one-goal game after 20 minutes thanks to Jonathan Phillips' goal soon exploded in period two. Nikolai Lemtyugov, Michael Davies and John Armstrong all beat Matt Ginn within a four minute spell that put the hosts in a commanding position. Anthony DeLuca added another just past the 38 minute mark to make it 5-0 after 40 minutes.

Lemtyugov added his second of the night before Cody Thompson got Manchester on the board with 10:31 to play. Tyson Fawcett reduced the deficit to 6-2 three minutes later, but there was still time for Lemtyugov to complete his hat-trick at 58:25, and young Kieron Brown to get on the scoresheet with 16 seconds to play.
