Game recap

The Panthers avenged their defeat in Belfast a week earlier with an overtime win over the Giants in Nottingham on Sunday night.

The Giants led after 20 minutes at the Motorpoint Arena thanks to Kendall McFaull’s opening goal scored with 12:13 on the board – and they nearly held that lead through 40 minutes as well, but for Alex Guptill tying the game with 1:44 left in period two.

1:17 into the third the visitors were however back ahead thanks to Dustin Johner, but at 44:11 Ollie Betteridge levelled things up again. With no more goals in the remainder of the period each team took a point, and just under halfway through the extra period the Panthers took the bonus point – Brett Perlini with the OT winner at 62:21.
