Game recap

Coventry moved level on points with Manchester and the playoff places thanks to a three-goal win over Milton Keynes.

Things actually started well for the home side, who led after 3:43 thanks to Michael Fine converting shorthanded. That lead was held by the Lightning for almost 20 minutes, the Blaze not levelling until 3:39 in period two with a powerplay goal from Alex Nikiforuk.

Coventry looked like they would lead at the break when Tim Crowder put them ahead at 36:17, but Lightning Player-Coach Tim Wallace tied the game up 35 seconds from the end of the period.

Coventry were back ahead through Luke Ferrara 4:45 into the final period, and then goals from Ben Lake and Thom Flodqvist put them into a commanding lead in just over two and a half minutes. Ross Venus extended the lead with an empty net goal at 58:38, before Robbie Baillargeon pulled a late one back for MK after video review to end the game 6-3 to the Blaze.
