Adam Johnson dies after tragic on ice accident

Nottingham Panthers player Adam Johnson, 29, tragically passed away after an accident in a Challenge Cup game away to the Sheffield Steelers on Saturday night.
It was 13:47 into the second period of the game between Sheffield Steelers and Nottingham Panthers on Saturday that the terrible accident occured. After a collision on the ice a blade of an skate caused the injury to Johnson's throath/neck area. The game was abandoned and the arena evacuated as Johnson was taken to hospital where his life could not be saved.
The 29 year old American who besides a long carreer in the USA including 13 NHL games for the Pittsburgh Penguins also played in Europe for Malmö, Sweden and Augsburgher Panter, Germany before joining the Britsh side Nottingham Panthers for this season.
