After a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the traditional competition restarts in September

 
 
 
 

In January 2020 SonderjyskE Vojens became the first Continental Cup champion from Denmark and the last winner of the silver plate before the 2020 edition, announced with a new format,  was cancelled, as all club's tournaments due to Covid-19 pandemic.

For the 2021-2022 season the competition is back, starting in September with the 2 qualifying groups, playing in Brasov, Romania and Vilnius, Lithuania that will promote the winners to the second round, from 22 to 24 October in Amiens, France and Budapest, Hungary.

In November the semifinals round will promote two teams from each group, playing in Krakow, Poland and Aalborg, Denmark, to the January Superfinals

Besides the trophy the winner will earn also a wild card for the next Champions Hockey League, if approved by the compatition board.
