Juho Olkinuora is not one of the most famous goalies but today be made the difference when Finland beat Czech Republic 3-2 at Carlson Hockey Games in Brno.
The 28-year-old Finnish goalie Juho Olkinuora made 39 saves, including 18 in the third period, against Czech Republic to win his EHT debut. The only times the Czechs managed to beat him they were two skaters more on the ice. After Finnish goals by Sakari Manninen in the first period and Petteri Lindbohm in the second Filip Hronek beat Olkinuora when there wer two Finnish players on the penalty bench. Manninen scored his second goal for 3-1 at 58:42 when Czech Republic had pulled Jakub Kovar from the net. Twenty seconds later Manninen was sent off for holding and the Czech coach Milos Riha pulled his goalie again. Radko Gudas made it 3-2 with six Czech against four finnish skaters on the ice. The goal was late though - at 59:32 - and The Czechs could never tie the game.
