In today's Euro Hockey Tour game Sweden got a 3-2 win over Finland in Stockholm Globe Arena.
In another close battle between the rivals from Northern Europe Sweden came out as the winner and also moved on top of the total EHT standings.
Finland took the lead at 18:11 on a goal by Kristian Näkyvä, but then they were baffled as Sweden scored both 1-1 and 2-1 within 37 seconds of the Finnish goal. Staffan Kronwall scored the equalizer and Nicklas Danielsson took Sweden to the lead.
Martin Johansson has been the big surprise in SHL and he is second in the league in goal scoring (21). He also scored today in his Tre Kronor debut. Johansson stole the puck from a Finnish defender and put it five-hole behind Atte Engren for 3-1 at 35:44.
Finland got a late power play in the second period and managed to get its second goal 14 seconds before the end, with quite some luck. Anssi Salmela's shot from the blueline bounced off two Swedes and left Oscar Alsenfelt without a chance.
The third period was scoreless and Sweden won the game 3-2.
Sweden started with Markus Svensson in the net but he was injured and replaced with Oscar Alsenfelt in the second period. Sweden also got Oskar Sundqvist and Dick Axelsson injured during the game.
