With a shutout in the final, Servette secured the second win in a row with a 3-0 over Russian representative Salavat Yulaef Ufa.
In the first 20 minutes of the game, neither team was able to get on the scoreboard even though Servette had 12 shots compared to 6 by Ufa. Just 3 minutes were played in the second period when the Servettiens were on a powerplay and Arnaud Jacquemet burried the the puck behind Irving a first time. Daniel Rubin then had a chance in the 35th minute when Geneva played with the one-man advantage again and scored the second goal of the match, assisted by Almond and Loeffel. Only 10 minutes were left in the game when Taylor Pyatt received a pass from his brother Tom and scored the 3rd goal. This was the decision in a game that wasn't as clear as the result would assume. Ufa had proven to be a true opponent to Geneva who now hope to receive a third invitation in a row by Freddy Pargätzi, the president of the organising comittee of the Spengler Cup.
