A Nashville Predators hot prospect Kevin Fiala of Switzerland scores twice helping his team down the Czechs. The first time in 17 years.
Kevin Fiala banked two goals for Switzerland helping them get past the Czechs on Day 2 of the Junior World Championship in Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
Fiala got past Vanecek twice in the first period to have the game tied after 20 minutes. A goal galore of three during the second 20 minutes gave the Swiss much needed advantage to snap the win. Noah Rod and Luca Fazzini both got two points on the way, a goal and an assist.
The Czechs fought back in the first period through Ruzicka and Klok who before the five-minute mark gave their team the lead. Nemecek and Pastrnak got the assists.
Gauthier Descloux got the start in net and made 27 saves including two magnificent glove stops on Ruzicka and David Kase by the end of second period.
Fiala was surely the main story of tonight's game. He was calling for the puck, getting plays and showed some nifty, hot hands. Surely the Predators made the right choice drafting him 11th overall in last year's NHL Draft.
