Brynäs wins important points

Last year's Swedish champion Brynäs is not far from missing the playoffs so every point is important. Today they tied the game against Växjö with only three seconds remaining and then won the bonus point in the shootout.

 
 
 
 

Brynäs IF - Växjö Lakers HC 4 - 3 (0-1, 1-2, 2-0, 0-0, 1-0)
AIK and Växjö have been getting closer to Brynäs on the important eighth place in the standings. A loss today would have been really bad for last year's champion, and it was really a close call. At 59:57 Jonathan Granström tied the game at three with his second goal of the game. In the shootout Calle Järnkrok secured another important point for the home team when he beat Fredrik Norrena in Växjö's net. Alexander Johansson had scored 1-0 and 2-0 for Växjö before Granström scored his first goal. Dennis Rasmussen then scored 3-1 for the visitors just a few seconds before the end of the second period. Six minutes before the end of the third period Elias Lindholm scored 2-3.

With six games to play Brynäs holds the eighth spot with 67 points. AIK is ninth with 61 points and seven games to play. Växjö, ten points behind Brynäs still has a small chance to make the playoffs.

Luleå HF - Frölunda HC 6 - 1 (1-0, 2-0, 3-1)
Luleå got an easy win against Frölunda. Niklas Fogström scored three times in the 6-1 win. Linus Persson, Linus Klasen and Joonas Vihko also scored.

Färjestads BK - Linköpings HC 1 - 2 (0-0, 0-0, 1-1, 0-0, 0-1)
Linköping still aims for the fourth place in the table and won two important points against second placed Färjestad. Sebastian Karlsson scored 1-0 for the guests Linköping seven minutes before the end but Rickard Wallin tied it for Färjestad. In the shootout Johannes Salmonsson gave Linköping the win.

MODO Hockey - HV 71 3 - 4 (1-1, 1-3, 1-0)
HV's equalizer one second before the end of the first period and the run from 1-1 to 1-4 in the first half of the second was decisive for the game. MODO replied twice but not more. Rhett Rakhshani had three assists for HV71. Jesper Fasth, Elias Fälth, Jason Krog and David Petrasek scored the goals.

Rögle BK - Timrå IK 0 - 4 (0-1, 0-1, 0-2)
Timrå won the game between the two teams stuch at the bottom of the standings. Daniel Bellissimo in the net saved 26 shots for the shutout. Andreas Molinder and Matt Murley both had a goal and two assists. Christian Söderström and Anton Wedin also scored a goal each. With six rounds remaining Timrå has eight points up to Växjö to avoid the relegation series Kvalserien.
