Braehead Clan – Edinburgh Capitals 4:1 Rapid Solicitors Elite League
Braehead’s second visit to Edinburgh fared better than the first visit last month. After a 4-3 overtime loss to the Capitals in a Challenge Cup fixture, Braehead looked to pull one back in the League this weekend.
Two quick goals from Brock McPherson and Robert Farmer quickly set the tempo of the game, giving The Clan a two goal lead less than 7 minutes into the game.  Midway through the first, Edinburgh pulled one back through Juraj Senko, enough to send the game to the first intermission at 2:1
It was Braehead who saw the better of the scoring chances, totalling 39 shots against James Flavell in the Capitals net. A goal from Ash Goldie in the second and a fourth goal from Bobby Chaumont late in the third was enough for the Clan to take the victory against their Scottish rivals. Final score, Braehead 4:1 Edinburgh.

Dundee Stars – Hull Stingrays 3:1 Rapid Solicitors Elite League
Dundee travelled to Hull looking to pick up another win against the Stingrays after defeating them 3:2 in their last encounter.
The home team got on the scoreboard first, Janis Ozolins netting for the sixth time this season, set up by Kurtis Dulle and Matt Davies. The lead lasted just under three minutes as Billy Bagron levelled the game.
The second period was evenly paced, with Dundee firing 10 shots towards Ben Bowns and Hull firing 8 on Nic Riopel. With seven seconds left in the second, Mike Wirll gave the visitors the lead.
Hull came out firing in the final period, firing 14 shots on net compared to Dundee’s’ 5 attempts, but ultimately with time winding down, Sami Ryhanan sealed the victory with an empty net goal with 4 seconds left, Dundee left with a 3:1 victory.

Nottingham Panthers – Belfast Giants 2:3 after shootout Rapid Solicitors Elite League
The third meeting between last years’ playoff champions Nottingham and last years’ league champions proved to be a close encounter.
Noah Clarke scored for the homeside towards the end of the period, to give the Giants what looked to be a lead going into the intermission, but David Ling managed to level the scores just over a minute before the break.
After the first period being very even in shots, the Giants fired 23 shots compared to Nottingham’s 8, but that didn’t have a big effect on the scoreboard. Greg Stewart did managed to capitalise on one of Belfast’s chances with a Power play goal late in the period, only to have the score levelled 58 seconds later by Bruce Graham, proving to be the final goal of regulation.
After a goalless overtime period,  Robby Sandrock scored the only shootout goal to give the Giants the win.

Sheffield Steelers – Cardiff Devils 1:2 Rapid Solicitors Elite League
The league leaders looked to snap a two game losing streak and get back to their dominant start to the season as the travelled to the Welsh capital to face the Struggling Cardiff Devils.
As Matt Stephenson sat for two minutes on a roughing minor, Phi Hill capitalised on some good net play to tap the first goal home for the homeside.
As the teams came out for the second period, they both stepped up their physical play, resulting in Devils defenseman Josh Batch penalised with a 2 + 10 penalty for a check to the head on Tylor Michel. The former Devil, Michel didn’t return to the action.
Early in the second period, Stephenson found himself in the box again on a tripping minor which left the league leader in points, Mac Faulkner, to capitalise on a rebound to double the lead for the Devils.
As the period wound down, Matt Stephenson made up for his two costly penalties to pull the game back to within one.
Despite a heavily dominant third period from Sheffield, they failed to capitalise on any of their 14 attempts against Phil Osaer, with the Devils taking the win.
