Big win for Timrå

Timrå got a very important 5-1 win away to Linköping in tonight's only Elitserien game.

Timrå desperately needed a win as they were tenth of the twelve teams in the standings and the gap to a playoff spot was eight points. The away game against Linköping didn't start well either. The home team took the lead at 11:26 on a goal by Mattias Weinhandl.

Deciding for the game were Timrå's efficient minutes in the opening of the second period. Max Friberg tied the game and then Jeremy Boyce-Rotevall scored 1-2 short-handed. Timrå also got 1-3 47 seconds later on a goal by Joachim Rohdin.

Linköping outshot the guests 36-26 but couldn't beat Timrå's keeper Joakim Lundström again. Instead Timrå scored another two goals in the final minutes. Christian Söderström scored the fourth goal and Mathew Robinson sealed the 5-1 win with an empty netter.

"Incredibly nice. We have had a lot of games that have bounced against", says Timrå's coach Tomas Montén to C More.
