After the threat of an exclusion from the KHL, the Kazakh club decides to take a step back
A war scenario painted yesterday after the statement of Players Union
asking KHL to exclude Barys Astana ends up singing kumbaya.
The club decided not to file a lawsuit against the
KHL decision about
the compensation of 500 000 rubles to former coach Andrei Khomutov
for early termination of his contract.
Early today
Barys made a statement on its site saying that club: "not intend to enter into conflict with the league. We're not going to fight with anyone. All our actions are strictly directed to a fair resolution of this situation, taking into account the interests of all parties."
Later KHL vice-President Vladimir Shalaev announced: "Won't be a trial between Barys and the KHL. Club withdraws its claim and has agreed to pay compensation to Khomutov."
