In the second game of the day in Znojmo Suisse faced with Latvia. Latvian players were motivated after yesterday’s loss Team Russia 1-6. They grabbed a lead at the 2nd minute when captain Nikita Jevpalovs used a pass from Martins Lavrovs. Julian Schmutz made a nice sole move, getting the puck in the neutral zone he came past defenseman and tied the game at 06:22. But Latvia returned their lead with Lavrovs who was first on the rebound after shot from the slot. Baltic team had 11 PP chances before Sandro Zangger got two minutes for tripping. Edgars Kulda, the brother of AHL player Arturs Kulda, made it 3-1. Lukas Balmelli gave his a hope with PP goal at 34:31. With 42 seconds to play in the second Georgs Golovkovs with a good move from left wing made it 4-2. In the last period teams didn’t create any real chances to score and the game ended 4-2 for team Latvia, who have a real chance not to fight for stay alive in divisions, but try to get quarter-final stage.
