Game recap

Pete Russell’s Glasgow Clan moved another two points clear in third as they took revenge for last Sunday’s defeat in Guildford.

Going 2-on-1 Matt Beca and Rasmus Bjerrum combined to put the Clan ahead – Bjerrum getting on his own rebound to slowly slide the puck into the Flames’ net to break the deadlock at 14:20. Just under 20 minutes later the Flames draw themselves level, Ian Watter with the goal to make the game ever however it wasn’t to last very long. Guillaume Doucet had the home side back at 35:27, and 26 seconds before the period was over Vaclav Stupka put the Clan 3-1 up. 13 seconds later though Kruise Reddick had the Flames back to within one, the score at 3-2 to Glasgow after 40 minutes.

Under three minutes into the final period Brett Ferguson tied the game at three each, however that was as good as the Flames’ night was to get. Matt Beca scored the go-ahead goal for the Clan at 47:53, and with a little over five minutes remaining Doucet hit his second to round off a 5-3 win.
