After one-year hiatus, club has solved its economic difficulties and is ready to compete again
One year ago legendary club Spartak Moscow, four-time champion of the USSR, announced it will miss KHL season after the revocation of the license of the general sponsor of the club Investment Bank. Now club is ready to come back to competition, starting from 2015/2016 according to newspaper R-Sport, citing a source close to the club. For next season Spartak will have stable funding and budget comparable with the leading teams of the KHL, even if isn' specified who will be the main sponsor. Officially, the return of Spartak in the league will be announced later this season. Last month KHL Chairman of the Board Gennadi Timchenko declared Spartak brand return was a priority for KHL. "We work on it. The brand of Spartak must return to the KHL. The question that we must find a good sponsor. We unfortunately can not help all. We helped Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod, Vityaz and Atlant, now we are working with Spartak."
