The lower ranked away team won three of the four games when the Finnish Quarter Finals started. JYP was the only home team to win when they beat Ilves 7-3.

Eric Perrin scored 3 goals and Ossi Louhivaara 2 when the regular season winner JYP beat tenth placed Ilves 7-3 in the first Quarter Final.

HIFK Helsinki

Jokerit

Tomi Mäki scored the only goal of the game when Jokerit won the Helsinki derby 1-0 against rivals HIFK. Jan Lasak in Jokerit's net made 39 saves.

Lukko Rauma

KalPa Kuopio

KalPa beat Lukko 3-2. Sakari Salminen scored two goals; 0-2 and 1-3. Tapio Laakso scored the first goal for the guests.

Porin Ässät

3:4 OT

Espoo Blues

The only game to go to overtime was the one between Ässät and Blues. Blueas managed to take a 1-0 lead of the series against the league runner-up thanks to a goal by Stefan Öhman at 74:36. The final score was 3-4.
