Yunost wins Belarusian regular season

Yunost Minsk won the regular season standings of the Belarus league six points ahead of Neman Grodno. The playoffs for the President Cup will start with quarter finals March 4th.
As expected Yunost finished first in the Belarus Open League (including ine Ukrainian and one Latvian team). Yunost got 136 points in 55 games. Neman Grodno came second with 130. Metallurg Zhlobin, Shakhtar Soligorsk, Gomel, Sokol Kyiv, Metalurgs Liepaja and Brest also made it to the playoffs. Novopolotsk, Mogilev, Vitebsk and Shinnik finished outside of the top-8.
In the quarter finals the teams are divided into pairs according to the position in the Regular season: 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5.
The Quarter finals and Semi finals series are played in best-of-5 series while the final is played best-of-7.

The quarter finals are played March 4, 5 and 8 and if needed also March 9 and 11.
