Sparta wins the Norwegian league

The team from Sarpsborg wins the regular season while Rosenborg from Trondheim grabbed the last playoff spot after two goals in the last minute of the regular season.
It was a thrilling finish to the regular season of the Norwegian top league GET Ligaen when Rosenborg took the last playoff spot with just one goal better goal difference. As Manglerud Star won at hone to Lillehammer 3-1 Rosenborg needed to beat last placed Stjernen at home. Rosenborg outshot Stjernen 61-29 but despite that Stjernen took the lead 5-6 with 1:17 left to play of the game. But Rosenborg did the impossible and scored two goals in the last minute with the winning 7-6 goal scored by Ryan Fairbarn with 30 seconds left to play. For the upcoming playoff however Rosenborg has problem as the home arena is closed because of technical trouble.
While top eight teams will play in the playoff the two bottom teams, Manglerud Star and Stjernen will play in the playdowns against the two top teams from 1. divisjon, the second highest league in Norway.
The league was won by Sparta Sarpsborg who was 14 points ahead of Stavanger Oilers. Sparta has to be considered favourites heading into the playoffs and also had three players on top scoring list. The top ten scorers was dominated by foreign players with only two Norwegian players on the list. Three players were tied top scorers with 65 points each, Swedes Martin Strandfeldt (Stavanger) and Henrik Malmström (Sparta) and the Norwegian Christian Dahl Andersen (Stavanger).
