Norway's defender Ole-Kristian Tollefsen has been suspended for one game, for the second time during the World Championship
Bad news for Norway when one of their best players Ole-Kristian Tollefsen is given another one game suspension after an incident in the game against Sweden.
The suspension is given for a situation where Tollefsen had his stick between the legs of Sweden's Calle Järnkrok and forcefully drove the shaft of his stick into Järnkrok's groin area.
Just as his earlier suspension Tollefsen only got a two minute minor penalty during the game but was still suspended afterwards. According to the Disciplinary Panel Tollefsen's action was in total disregard of the safety of his opponent.
Given that and that the incident took place during a stoppage of play at the end of the game with the game already decided the Disciplanary Panel states that Tollefsen did "not only endangered the health of Järnkrok, but also showed a flagrant disregard for the rules of the game and for this he must be held accountable".
