Brynäs humiliated by Luleå

In one of today's four Elitserien games the 2012 champion Brynäs lost 8-1 to Luleå and is now the team with most allowed goals - 74 in 26 games.

Niklas Olausson had 4 assists and Linus Persson 3 when Luleå embarrassed last year's champion Brynäs. Jonas Nordquist opened the scoring for Brynäs halfways through the first period but then came eight unanswered home goals. Eight different scorers scored for Luleå - 4 Finnish (Joonas Vihko, Kim Hirschovits, Niklas Fogström and Toni Koivisto) and four Swedish (Fredrik Svensson, Linus Klasen, Jan Sandström and Johan Fransson). The game ended with a dirty hit by Luleå's Mats Lavander which resulted in three game misconducts.

Växjö is getting coser to a playoff spot after today's 3-0 win against Timrå. there are now only two points up to Frölunda on 8th place. With 25 saves Fredrik Norrena earned a shutout. Brad Moran, Johan Markusson and Petr Vampola scored the goals.

Per Åslund scored twice when Färjestad beat Frölunda 4-1 at home. With a short handed goal he made it 1-0 at 21:38. Dick Axelsson replied for Frölunda in the next minute. In the middle of the second period Marcus Paulsson used a power play opportunity to take Färjestad ahead again. Per Åslund scored his second goal with three minutes remaining for 3-1. Anders Bastiansen added 4-1 in the empty Frölunda net 21 seconds later.

MODO got a comfortable 4-1 win against Rögle. Morten Madsen and Peter Öberg scored in the first period. Per-Åge Skrøder and Ladislav Nagy in the second. Rögle's goal was scored by Ted Brithén four minutes before the end of the game.
