South Korea wants Danish hockey success

You would think that South Korea has more than the hockey mind right now, but life goes on in the prosperous and populous Asian country, and South Korea's ice hockey federation has just sent an invitation to the Danish Ice Hockey Union on a cooperation to lift South Korean ice hockey to a higher level.
-DIU press releaseThe South Korean ice hockey federation sees the Danish hockey model, which have produced six
NHL players as an example of how far a small hockey nation in terms of number of players can achieve with the quality of talent development. South Korea has 1600 active ice hockey players and is currently ranked 33 on the IIHF World Ranking - 20 places below Denmark.
- We are very proud of the invitation and take it as a compliment to the development we have
reviewed in Danish hockey. We'll be happy if we can build a good relationship with South Korea and put a positive mark on hockey there and in the rest of the region, so hockey may get a boost in Asia and become as much a winter sport that it is in Europe and North America, says DIU (The Danish hockey federation) director, Enver Hansen.
A small delegation from the DIU travel to South Korea in early December to talk about the Danish success, not just on the playing side, but also about referees.
The delegation will talk about the unique Danish program and will also attend club matches in the
Asian Hockey League.
