The teams play a single round-robin series. Each team plays each opponent once.
The winner of the event will be promoted to the Top Division. The last-ranked team will be relegated to Division I Group B.
Hungary and Denmark up, Sweden and France down
Hungary and Denmark finished first and second of the World Women's Championship Division IA to promote to the top division. Sweden and France are relegated from the highest level of international women's hockey.
