The Ontario Elite Hockey League is a men's Senior AA ice hockey league established on August 17, 2023 by the Ontario Hockey Association. The league took ten existing members of the WOAA Senior AA Hockey League (plus one pending expansion team) as well as another team announced as being formed in the announcement for the formation of the new league. The league is actually a morphing of the WOAA Senior AA Hockey League into a league under the sanction of the OHA and is part of the OHA's streamlining efforts for each level of play in the province with one league at each playing level provincewide with more active classifications having regionalized subdivisions within each league. The WOAA had played under all of Hockey Canada's guidelines but chose to remain independent until 2023.
