In 1986, the Colorfast Junior BB team was renamed Strathcona Legion. We then entered the Edmonton Junior Hockey League where we remained until Joining the Capital Junior Hockey League. The team Royals was incorporated in 1989 after the loss of sponsorship from the Strathcona Legion. John Anderson,Jim Craig [still involved], and Willie Rolleman & Miles Palmer were instrumental in the formation of the Club.
The Royals evolved from the Juvenile BB team Curtis Hoover with name changes of Colorfast, Strathcona League, Dougs Place Royals and now Edmonton Royals
