EHT is played in four tournaments, one in each of the four participating countries. The winner of the total standings is the winner of EHT.

Euro Hockey Tour is a competition founded in 1996/97. It is used as World Championship preparation where players can get international experience.

The four members are Czech Republic, Finland, Russia and Sweden. Canada and Slovakia have also participated in some EHT tournaments but have never been included in the total standings.
