Joined NHL in 1999, managed to get into the playoffs just once, in 2006/07 season. Facing mounting financial problems and continuous operating loss, the franchise was sold to a Canadian group with an aim of relocating the club to Winnipeg, Manitoba. NHL Board of Governors approved the relocation and the franchise continues as Winnipeg Jets in Winnipeg, Manitoba in June 2011.
