The league will consist of 4 teams:

Hong Kong Tycoons
Macau Aces
Kowloon Warriors
South China Sharks

15 regular season game schedule (October 8th - March 3rd)
All games will be played at the Mega ice rink located in Mega Box, Kowloon Bay,
Hong Kong
All games will be played on Saturday night:
- 1st games at 8:00 pm
- 2nd game at 9:30 pm
Minimum age requirement is 16 to play in the league.

Game Structure

Game will be played with ‘full body contact'.
3x12 minute stop time periods played 5 on 5+1 goalie.
1x3 minute stop time overtime period played 4 on 4+1 goalie.
3 player shoot out (same as the NHL).
4 man referee system (2 Referees and 2 Linesman)
Strict rules and suspensions will be enforced for ‘hitting from behind' and ‘hits that target the players head'.
No fighting allowed.
Rules will follow international ice hockey standards with minor changes.

No promotions/relegations

The CIHL is the 1st professional ice hockey league covering Southern China with teams from Hong Kong, Kowloon, Macau and South China. The league is modeled after the popular British Columbia Hockey league (BCHL) in Canada with the following objectives;

Revive and expand interest in the sport of ice hockey in China.
Expand on the growing popularity of ice hockey in Hong Kong.
Provide a world class entertainment product.
Establish a bonafide Chinese professional league over time.
Develop Chinese hockey players to achieve competitiveness on a global basis.

Macau Aces win first title in Hong Kong

The Macau Aces held off the Hong Kong Tycoons to become the 2016-2017 CIHL Quam Cup Champions after reaching the finals for the first time.
Jeff Ceccacci (1g, 2a), Whitney Olsen (2g), and Stefan Northman (1g, 1a) helped the Aces build a 5-1 lead, only to see it erased as the Tycoons netted three consecutive goals to make it a 5-4 game with under one minute left to play.

Time expired before the Tycoons could complete the comeback and the Aces celebrated in joy as they raised the Quam Cup

South China Sharks captured Hong Kong CIHL League

Canadian Jordan So (3 goals and 2 assits) and American Blake Steele (3+1) were the key players for South China Sharks defeating 9-6 reigning champion Hong Kong Tycoons in the CIHL final, conquering the second title and joining Kowloon Warriors as major winner of the league. Tycoons Canadian forward Lucas Eshleman finished as top scorer with 54 points (28+26)

Tycoons win title in Hong Kong

Finished last in the regular season, Hong Kong Tycoons caused a big surprise beating regular season winner Macau Aces in the semifinal and title holder Kowloon Warriors 6-5 at overtime in a dramatic final with decisive goal by Canadian Jonathan Szychta at 61:06 to win the first tile of CIHL Hong Kong. Tycoons forward Brad Smith was the top scorer of the league

Kowloon Warriors are CIHL champion

Last weekend the Kowloon Warriors were crowned the inaugural 2011-2012 CIHL Champions, winning the RBC Asia Cup after a hard-fought 2-0 shutout over the South China Sharks. The best-of-three series saw the Warriors win both Game 1 back in March 5-4 and secure the championship in last weekend's Game 2. Warriors Greg Smyth is the league Top Scorer with 29 goals and 18 assists in 14 games.

The CIHL is the 1st professional ice hockey league covering Southern China with teams from Hong Kong, Kowloon, Macau and South China.
