1.Liga West is a 4th level league, replaced another Oberliga West (ceased after 12014-15 season) with same name but at 3rd level of German hockey.
10 teams play a round robin. Top 6 teams played a double round robin and the top 4 play playoffs for promotion (not mandatory) to Oberliga Nord. Team from 7 to 10 play with top 4 team from Regionalliga West in a single round.
