Game recap

Guildford Flames ended a disappointing run of results with an impressive 4-1 victory against defending league champions Belfast.

It was an excellent start to the game for the hosts who led by two after 20 minutes at the Spectrum. Just 5:12 had been played when Jesse Craig gave the Flames a powerplay lead, before Ben Davies doubled the advantage a little under four minutes later.

Brian Ward finished from close range to pull the score back to 2-1 2:10 into period two, but the Giants weren't able to find another goal to draw level over the next 25 minutes.

Instead, Ian Watters scored on the empty net with 2:06 left on the clock and Jamie Crooks put the result beyond doubt with a fourth 20 seconds from time.
