Game recap

Following three narrow defeats during the Christmas period, Coventry Blaze finally got a win with a dominant performance in Cardiff.

Ross Venus opened the scoring for the Blaze at 2:24 after the Devils turned the puck over on their own blueline, and it was the Brit who doubled the lead at 25:57 to put the Blaze into a solid lead.

Andrew Johnston's powerplay goal at 35:10 made it 3-0 after 40 minutes, and when Chris Pohlkamp scored from the wing at 53:13 the game was as good as over. On a poweprlay late, Andrew Lord pulled Ben Bowns to try and force a way back into the game but it backfired - Charles Corcoran found the empty net at 54:49 for the game's final goal.
