Game recap

What a weekend it turned out to be for Nottingham Panthers, who shutout Belfast on Sunday night to record a four-point weekend from their double-header at home to the Giants.

After a goalless opening period, it was the Panthers who took the lead at just past the halfway mark of the game with Mark Matheson’s shot from the point going through traffic and past Shane Owen at 30:28.

Brett Bulmer made a crucial block in the slot as the Giants pressed for an equaliser late on with Shane Owen pulled, but it wasn't to be for the visitors who saw Sam Herr fire into the empty net, despite the best efforts of Kevin Raine, to make it 2-0 with 30 seconds to play.
