Game recap

Guildford Flames moved top of Challenge Cup Group B thanks to an overtime win in Coventry. Despite losing, by picking up the extra point the Blaze are still in the mix for qualifying from the group automatically.

Charles Corcoran scored the only goal of the first 20 minutes, putting Coventry ahead at 9:45. Kruise Reddick levelled the game 3:40 into a second that would have four goals scored in it. Brett Ferguson gave Guildford the lead at the halfway mark of the game, only for Janne Laakkonen to tie things at 32:17. Luke Ferrara then finished a nice Blaze move by scoring at 38:56 to keep Danny Stewart's men ahead after two periods.

It was a late equaliser for the Flames to force overtime - Calle Ackered unusually with a wrist shot from the slot with 4:49 to go levelling the scores. Reddick scored the winner 13 seconds into the bonus period to give Guildford the extra point.
