Omar Pacha's Dundee Stars got off to the perfect new-season with a three-goal win over rivals Glasgow Clan.
Dundee led by three after the opening period, thanks to goals from Anthony Beauregard at 6:29, Drydn Dow not long later at 8:19, and then Brett Stoivin 26 seconds before the end. While Mathieu Roy got the Clan on the board at 32:10, Kevin Dufour re-established the Stars' three-goal lead before Craig Peackock brought the score back to 4-2.
Elgin Pearce put Dundee back three ahead again 1:04 into the final period, and although Roy pegged the score back to 3-5 with just under 3:30 to go Dundee had the last laugh with Matt Marquardt's goal at 57:06.
