Game recap

Coventry kept up their chase of the playoff places with a narrow overtime win over Dundee, who saw their winning streak come to an end.

The Stars led after the first period thanks to goals from Charles Corcoran and Matt Marquardt at 6:48 and 18:19 respectively – a Ben Lake powerplay effort for the hosts sandwiched in between to make it a 2-1 game.

Lake was on target again at 34:07 to tie the game, and at 37 minutes exactly Shawn Pauly then but the Blaze ahead for the first time. However it would be all square at the break, thanks to Lukas Lundvald tying the game with 1:21 to play in the period.

Corcoran put Dundee back ahead 14 seconds in the third, and that’s the way the game stayed until 35 seconds from time – Tim Crowder with the equaliser late on to rescue the Blaze a point.

That point then became two as Justin Hache scored on the powerplay in overtime just 28 seconds in to the extra period.
