Goals and assists
Joel Rumple’s second shutout in as many games helped Glasgow Clan up into fourth with his side’s six-goal win in Sheffield and Fife’s loss to Belfast.
It was three goals in the final two periods that proved enough to hand Sheffield a second consecutive home defeat this week, as the Clan ran in three goals in a little over two and a half minutes to put themselves well in control. Scott Pitt on the powerplay got the ball rolling at 27:04 followed by Mac Howlett at 28:42. Vaclav Stupka’s first goal of the night 58 seconds later for the visitors put the hosts in a deep hole.
With 10 minutes to go in regulation Stupka struck again to make it 4-0, before Jack Musil made it five with 51:16 on the clock. A late powerplay goal from Rasmus Bjerrum 3:16 from time completed the six-goal win for the Clan, which saw them move up into the top four.
