Goals and assists
In-form Glasgow Clan hit six goals at the Fly DSA Arena for the second time this season to extend their good record over the Steelers in 2018/19.
A Guillaume Doucet wrist-shot from the slot opened the scoring just 60 seconds into the game, followed at 9:34 by Doucet picking out Brendan Connolly with an excellent pass on a 2-on-1 – Connolly slotting past Jackson Whistle for 2-0. 19 minutes later at 28:34 in the second period Travis Erhardt made it three with a low wrist shot form close range, and then a lucky bounce from a faceoff allowed Rasmus Bjerrum to fire home at 31:19 to put the Clan four ahead.
The night did however belong to Doucet, who completed his hat-trick in the space of 51 seconds late in the middle session with goals at 18:02 and 19:53, the latter of which pulling an excellent move around Rob Dowd to then shoot into the net. Jonathan Phillips added a consolation goal for the Steelers at 44:14, but by then the Clan were clear enough ahead to see out the period with no further scoring on either side.
